The Last will & testimonye of Hugh Burtt being
verye weeke of body though of pfect memorye 7 october : 1661.
Impr I bequeath my bodye to the dust, & my Spiritt to him that gaue :
it:
It : to my sonn will : Bassitt 2 acccors of Salt marsh in the Last devision
in Rumny marsh which I bought of Timothye Cooper: which Lyeth next to his
(viz) after my wifes desese ; then to him & his heires forever :
It: fto my son Bassett to him, & his heires for ever : fiue acors of
vpland Lyeing amongst Henrye Collins Land which I bought of Robt : Mansfeild
which is yet vndevided
It: I bequeath to my sonn will : Basset all my weareing Apparrell
It: I bequeath to my two grandaughters || marye, & Sarah || the daughters
of my sonn Hugh Birt deseased each of them, a cow when they Come to the age
of twenty ||one|| years which are to bee paid by my sonn Edward Burtt because
I giue hir halfe my Land at my deseas
It: I bequeath to my sonn Edward Burt Halfe my housing Land & medows
vndesposed of in this will : at my deseas
It: I bequeath to my Sonn Edeard Burtt all my Housing Land, & medows
vndisposed of in this my will (viz) at my wifes desease
It: I bequeath to my wife one Half of my Houseing Lands & medowes vndeposed
of in this my will (viz) at my desease gureing her Lifetyme
It: I bequeath to my sonn Edward Burt Halfe my chatles sheep & swind
at my Desease: & some Corne || not halfe || & som haye
It: It: I bequeath to my wife all goods within dores to bee at her dispose
It: I make my wife my executrixt
It: my desyre is that mr Nathaniel Handforde & Andrew Mansfield should
[bee?] overseers of his my will & bequeath Each of them a noble for the
paines
Memorandum I acquitt my sonn --ward Burt of all the monyes that hee receiued
of mine in England || of all doe whateuer || & alsoe I giue vnto my son
--Ward Burt all my right & interest in houseing, or Land in London that
of to mee by my brother John Burtt
The will of Hugh Burt of Lynn was proved in the court held at Salem 26 :
9 : 1661. The above is a copy of the original on file in the office of the
clerk of courts at Salem, volume VII, leaf 24. "The Essex Antiquarian" Vol.

Inventory of the estate of Hugh Burt, Jr late of Lynn, deceased taken 8 :
8 : 1650, by Nathaniell Handforth and Robert Pepper, Amount £65, 15s,
11d. Real £22. Personal, £43 15s, 11d Owed £20, 8s, The widow
shore to the appraisal.
