Estate of Lucy [Pool] [Tarr] Carney of Gloucester

In the name of god, amen...I Lucy Carney of Gloucester in the county of
Essex and in the state of Massachusetts, widow, being of perfect mind and
memory, thanks to God for the same, - do make and publish this, my last
will and testament, (that is to say).

First, my will is, that my executor cause my mortal remains to be committed
to the dust by a decent customary burial.
Second, I give and bequeath to my son David, and to his heirs if he be not
living at the time of my decease, ten dollars, to be paid by my executor in
three months after my decease.
Item, I give and bequeath to my son John Carney one dollar, to be paid by
my said executor in three months after my decease.
Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Polly all my wearing apparel, that
I may die possessed of, to be paid to her or to her heirs, if she be not
living at the time of my decease, within one month after my decease.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my son John Stockman, all my other estate,
both real and personal, that I may die seized or possessed of, which I have
not before bequeathed, first requiring my said son John Stockman to pay out
of the proceeds of my estate all the just debts and the legacies above
named. And as to all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, of what
name or nature whatever, I give to my said son John Stockman; whom I hereby
appoint my sole executor of this my last will and testament; hereby
revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof, I have hereto set my hand and seal, this sixteenth day
of March, in the year one thousand eight hundred and eight.
Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above named Lucy Carney to be
her last will and testament, in the presence of us, who, at her request,
and in her presence have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses to the
same.
